HUMAN RIGHTS CELEBRATION IN SOUTH AFRICA

It's Human Rights Day celebration in South Africa today (21 March 2014) it's a public holiday which was officially declared in 1994 following the
inauguration of former president Nelson Mandela.

On this day we remember the tragic Sharpeville massacre however we don't focus on the events of that day but rather on the broader issue of human rights. We celebrate our peaceful transition from apartheid to democracy!!!

This year the national day-off falls on a Friday and what better way to celebrate Mzansi's unique foundation which gives all citizens equal rights and our unique constitution.

"Suid Afrika is baie mooi met sy blou see en groen gras. Op hierdie dag herdink ons, ons regte" Jammer mense in Suid Afrika praat ons elf tale, that's why our country is called a Rainbow Nation.
