The Sanlam Kay Motsepe Cup At Tills Crescent Stadium
The Sanlam Kay Motsepe cup is a school tournament co funded by Sanlam, Ubuntu Botho Community Development Trust and the Motsepe Family Foundation. Scholars who want to participate
must be in possession of a green RSA identity document and an original birth certificate.
I think the organisers in every district and region should meet before the tournament starts because according to the information on internet, original birth certificates are allowed but the organisers do not accept them therefore some learners from other districts might be disadvantaged due to lack of communication. My player was suspended and we lost our points because he didn't have an RSA identity document maybe the information about the tournament on internet need to be corrected.
In Durban central seven schools participated.

MARITZBURGH COLLEGE VS HUNT ROAD
Last Friday on 16 May 2014, my open team traveled to Pietermaritzburg in KwaZulu- Natal. We left the school early as we wanted to spend some time in the Capital city of the province of KwaZul -Natal which was founded in 1838,however our reason for travelling was to play our league match against Maritzburg College.
Some under 17 players didn't go with the team, such as the striker Lwazi Dlamini who had an injury. They borrowed players from the first team and they also introduced new players but the team was not united and the captain Mxolisi was really frustrated. They lost the match with 2-0,
The First team played very well, it was really awesome to watch, we wished it could never end and both teams were disciplined so that meant that the match wouldn't be physical at all. My boys played very well but they just could't score and so the final score was 1-0, Maritzburg college walked away with three points.I still believe my team is getting better, they have improved their performance and for a team that does not have a coach I think they are doing very well. The most challenging thing is the soccer field, the local teams train and play on the municipality grounds at Essenwood but we won't give up because every child has a right to play and they should not be denied that right.
There were changes in the fixture therefore we will play against Durban Academy next Wednesday on 21 May 2014, other players will compete in the Motsepe Cup on Thursday 22 May, Don't worry guys we are getting there.

OUR FIRST LEAGUE MATCH, Hunt vs Holy Family
On Friday 25 April 2014, we played our first league match against Holy Family College, we scored two goals but my boy's celebration was short lived when Holy Family introduced new players who scored two equalizers. The second half of the game was really tough, my boys were left with no choice but to defend in order to go away with at least one point, and just before we departed from school, Miguel, our defender sustained an injury while they were warming up on our small field so things weren't really looking good at all, but Sifiso Mzobe an under 16 captain saved the day.
Sbusiso Miya a grade 9 learner proved to be the best goalkeeper, he reminded me of Kaiser Chiefs goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune as he saved dangerous goals from Holy Family boys. Mr Mangiza, their coach has a very strong team especially his number 10 and number 7, they gave my boys a hard time and they have made them realize that a good training is essential.
We have also discovered a young grade 8 goalscorer, Lwazi Dlamini, he is very talented, just good training will take him to places.
This year I have been blessed with Mr Zikalala my colleague who is very supportive, the boys need someone with good knowledge of soccer however last year 2013 was better as Nhlanhla, the captain assisted them.
I appeal to Hunt Road old boys to come back and help if you are taking a gap year, you can kill your time by coaching the guys. My blog is not for asking for donations but Hunt Road Old Boys you can please assist us with soccer balls, bandages, rubbing stuff and smaller items to keep us going, we do not have a sponsor at the moment.
Our next match will be Hunt Road vs Durban Academy. I will keep you posted and thank you for supporting my blog.

HIV and AIDS IN OUR SCHOOLS
There is another threat in our schools of HIV and AIDS. Educators support the war against HIV and AIDS through education activities and because the learners value their health and have a will to live, we do our best to help them.
New infections on teenagers seem to be on the decline according to statistics. We encourage our learners to abstain from sex until they are mature and financially independent, I know most organisations put an emphasis on the use of condoms, I am not against that idea but they should also be encouraged to make the right choices.
In Kwa- Zulu Natal leaders such as Isilo sama Zulu, King Goodwill Zwelithini play a very important role in encouraging teenagers to abstain from sex. Every year there is Umkhosi Womhlaga in the royal kraal in which teenagers meet with older ladies who work hard to pass on good values to young girls in schools. I really respect " Ungangezwe Lakhe" for the role he is playing.
LOVE LIFE also works with our school to educate our learners about HIV and AIDS although HIV and sex education exist in school as part of the wider Life Orientation Curriculum it is hindered due to lack of training of teachers and unwillingness of educators and schools to provide this education as some parents feel their children are still young.

HUMAN RIGHTS CELEBRATION IN SOUTH AFRICA
It's Human Rights Day celebration in South Africa today (21 March 2014) it's a public holiday which was officially declared in 1994 following the
inauguration of former president Nelson Mandela.
On this day we remember the tragic Sharpeville massacre however we don't focus on the events of that day but rather on the broader issue of human rights. We celebrate our peaceful transition from apartheid to democracy!!!
This year the national day-off falls on a Friday and what better way to celebrate Mzansi's unique foundation which gives all citizens equal rights and our unique constitution.
"Suid Afrika is baie mooi met sy blou see en groen gras. Op hierdie dag herdink ons, ons regte" Jammer mense in Suid Afrika praat ons elf tale, that's why our country is called a Rainbow Nation.

HUNT ROAD VS PHAMBILI HIGH
Today we played against Phambili High School, I wanted to keep my promise and achieve the best results, well we really tried but I feel my first team has let me down due to a lack of commitment, however I saw some improvement although the boys lost 2- 0.
Under 17 played very well, the boys worked together as a team thanks to their captains Mxolisi Chamane and Monde Ndelu. Kwazi 'Shorty' Cele saved us from Phambili by scoring a goal which gave us a 1-1 draw. My boys displayed great talent and discipline.
Phambili High has two strong open teams and I am glad we played against them, the boys are fast and they know what they are doing however we would love to challenge them next season and show them that we are the best.
